This (not so) little man is Jovia.
He and his brother were severely ill from parvo in late November. Jovia, unlike his brother George, had to endure one month long fight for his life. But Jovia is strong, and a survivor, and is now happy and healthy and ready to find his new home.
First pictures show Jovia at the age of 4 months when he was only 5kg... We nursed him back to health and day by day he's grown into 22kg of pure love. He's funny, full of character and is ready to find his humans.
Things you should know about Jovia:
He's a large boy! Today at the age of 8months he weighs 22kg. Most likely he’ll not grow more in height, but will change in constitution as he fills out a little (it is estimated he’ll be between 25 and 30kg).
He’s in a foster home which he shares with other dogs and cats. He's a sociable boy, which means that even though he lives with cats, he gets quite excited when he sees them, so if you have cats, a proper introduction is needed and some patience as well!
Jovia is accustomed to an indoors life but not entirely toilet trained as he spends a lot of time outside - so this is something his family will have to show him. He's still young and should pick it up quickly!
When found, Jovia was a very wild boy. He lived on the streets with his mum who is a street dog. After a while he started to trust people more and each day he gets more confident. He is still a bit wary of unfamiliar people and it takes time for him to come near and greet them, but he will learn this with some guidance.
He's happy, playful, jumpy, and a belly rubs fan. He's averagely active, loves kisses, snuggles in bed... but doesn’t like to be covered with a blanket 😀
We’d like an active family for Jovia, who are dog experienced and have a willingness to work with him and help him overcome his lack of confidence and fears.
Children must be dog savvy, and over 10y due to Jovia’s size and clumsiness (we don't want any accidents!)
Jovia is healthy, fully vaccinated and castrated so is ready to go!
How do you adopt Jovia?
Adoption requires a pre-adoption questionnaire, home check and an adoption contract.
You will need to pay for Jovia‘s transportation, and pay for his paperwork. The costs are typically €475 in total, depending on where you are located.
We used to be able to charge a little less but unfortunately, due to brexit, the costs of passports, documentation and travel have been increased by our suppliers.
